We present a case with a demyelinating lesion, which was first suspected to be a glial tumor in respect to its appearance on magnetic resonance imaging. Depending on the first pathologic examination, the lesion was thought to be an infectious event due to toxoplasmosis. However, as the disease progressed and did not answer to medical treatment, it was further evaluated and found to be a demyelinating lesion. In this report, we present a misdiagnosis and discuss how it could be prevented not to cause increased morbidity and mortality before instituting proper treatment.
