Abstract

Central neurocytoma is a rare malignancy of the central nervous system. It may cause sudden death due to acute hydrocephalus. Total resection is adequate for cure. A 19 year old man was admitted following a drop attack. Neurological examination was normal. Cranial computed tomography revealed a hypodense mass lesion in the left lateral ventricle and unilateral hydrocephalus. Magnetic resonance showed a mass lesion which included multiple cysts in the left lateral ventricle. The tumor was removed totally, and neurocytoma diagnosis was confirmed hystopathologically.
