Abstract
Studies aiming to reveal genetic profiling of glioblastoma have enabled to identify different molecular subtypes of the tumor, while analyses performed at single cell level have revealed the cell populations within the tumors having distinct genetic structures. These factors constitute “the intrinsic resistance” possessed by the tumor, and limit the efficacy of available treatment options. In this review, we revisit glioblastoma biology from a molecular perspective, and try to highlight novel molecular targets, which can be utilized to develop new targeted treatments with higher efficacy.
