About the Journal

Journal of Nervous System Surgery is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal published by the Nervous System Surgery Society. Initially launched in 2008, the journal paused publication in 2023 and resumed its publishing activities in 2025. Published three times a year in April, August, and December, the journal features articles in both Turkish and English.

The journal provides a platform for clinical and experimental studies, scientific discussions, and current developments in the fields of neurosurgery, neurological sciences, and neuroscience. It aims to promote evidence-based clinical practices, innovative surgical and medical treatment modalities, basic scientific discoveries, and critical evaluations. While focusing on regional and national challenges in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of nervous system diseases, it evaluates these issues within the context of global scientific advancements. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, it aims to enhance the sharing of knowledge and experience among researchers, clinicians, academicians, and professionals working in the field of nervous system health. Its goal is to contribute to the scientific body of knowledge concerning the understanding, management, and treatment of nervous system diseases and to support the improvement of patient outcomes at both local and global levels.

Aim & Scope

Journal of Nervous System Surgery aims to advance scientific research, clinical practices, and understanding in the fields of neurosurgery, neurological sciences, and neuroscience. The journal targets contribution to evidence-based research, clinical studies, reviews, case reports, and technical advances by addressing a wide spectrum of topics including the etiology, pathophysiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, surgical and medical treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of nervous system diseases.

While highlighting regional and national specificities in neurosurgical practice, the journal aims to integrate these efforts with the global fight against nervous system diseases. It welcomes studies on innovative surgical techniques, novel treatment protocols, technological advancements, progress in diagnostic methods, clinical research findings, and the ethical and social dimensions of neuroscience; it also encourages multidisciplinary approaches and translational research extending from basic science to clinical application.

While encompassing a broad range of disciplines such as neurosurgery, neurology, neuroradiology, neuropathology, neuroanesthesia, psychiatry, basic neurosciences, and related engineering sciences, the journal fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, enabling the development of effective and comprehensive solutions for the complex nature of nervous system diseases. Journal of Nervous System Surgery serves as an important scientific resource and communication platform for researchers, clinicians, educators, and health professionals dedicated to advancing nervous system health and improving the quality of patient care.
