Abstract

Subclavian steal syndrome is stenosis of the segment proximal to the origin of vertebral artery that results in reversal of flow from the contralateral vertebral artery and basilar artery to subclavian artery. Cases usually present with mild symptoms or they are asymptomatic. The diagnosis is usually confirmed with carotid-vertebral Doppler ultrasonography and digital subtraction angiography. It is three times more prevalent in left side. Medical or surgical treatment is preferred according to the degree of stenosis and severity of signs and symptoms. We present an intracranial meningioma associated with asymptomatic left subclavian steal syndrome incidentally diagnosed during digital subtraction angiography. Left common carotid artery was completely obstructed at its origin and left hemisphere get blood supply via anterior communicating artery. No treatment was planned for subclavian steal syndrome since the patient is asymptomatic.
