Objective: In this study we aimed to compare the efficacy of two different methods (PLDD and PH) and whether one is superior to the other.
Material and Method: Nucleotomies were performed using different methods in Group L (n=20) (PLDD) and Group S (n=20) (PH), and the impact of nucleotomies on VAS scores measured at postprocedural 1., 12., and 24. months, and the differences (if any) between methods used were investigated. Odom criteria of both groups were compared at postprocedural 24. months.
Results: The only difference between the two groups, was that lumbar VAS scores at postprocedural 1. hour were statistically significantly higher in Group S when compared with those of Group L.
Conclusion: Both groups were comparable in terms of effectiveness of nucleotomy.
