Abstract

Objective: In this study, we report our experience with post-operative herpesvirus reactivation in 4 patients who underwent surgery.

Methods and Results: We reviewed 4 patients with postoperative herpes virus infection who had undergone surgical treatment due to an intracranial pathology and taken long-term steroid therapy in our clinic between 2007-2009.

Conclusion: The results are discussed in the light of the previous literature and we conclude that long term stereoid applications can be one of the factors for herpes virus activations in some neurosurgery patients.
